"Chap Goh Meh" at Taman Jaya PJ

Beautifully crafted lantern

"Chap Goh Meh" a Hokkien Dialect celebrated by Chinese on the 15th and final day of Lunar New Year. More information at Wikipedia. Young Malaysians Movement, Selangor jointly organised a celebration event with Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya at Taman Jaya, Petaling Jaya.

Throngs of people already reached there when I arrived after my photoshoot at Putrajaya. I was late as I was lost about an hour plus in Putrajaya itself....stupid roadsigns....Anyways let the picture tell you more.

Lion Dance

Throngs of people

Mandarin Oranges of LOVE

Longest Creative Pole to harvest the Mandarin Oranges

Hip-Hop Dancers

Acrobatics?

Lantern boats?

Full Moon

Full Moon

The overall event was interesting as non-stop action from Lion Dance, Singing, Hip Hop Dance, Acrobats, Mandarin Orange tossing etc. Once a year event that I've never been before and hoping to visit more soon.

Hi Ray, the pictures are quite ok. You do need to control exposure and shutter speed in certain type of photography, especially night shoots. It's a good start, though, and it'll get better with time. :)
